About

I’ve done a lot.

I’ve enjoyed every second.

Numbers drive my strategy. As a seasoned digital editor, I’ve successfully created lifestyle content and provided readers with engaging, share-worthy information for 15+ years. I ideate, I pitch, I strategize, I create, I analyze.

In the past, I’ve led the editorial teams at AskMen.com and BestGifts.com as both sites’ executive editor.

Prior to my current role, I was the senior director of branded content at American Media, which publishes Us Weekly, Star and OK! magazines. And previously, in partnership with The Weather Company’s Client Solutions team, I co-founded Icebreaker Studios, The Weather Company’s branded content arm. Icebreaker Studios was responsible for both ideating and executing various content campaigns for clients like Goose Island, Volvo, State Farm, Home Depot, REI and more.

Before my stint in branded content, I served as the digital editorial director of All You magazine, which was Time Inc.’s shopping and savings brand. (Rest in peace, All You, which has ceased publishing in 2016.)

Before I earned the right to lead editorial teams, I had been a vertical editor at XO Group (working on TheBump.com and TheBlush.com), CBSNews.com writing about tech, and NBCUniversal (being a kickass beauty and style senior editor for the now defunct iVillage.com).

Throughout my career, I’ve also freelanced for Shape Magazine, SheKnows.com, WhatToExpect.com, CafeMom.com, LuckyVitamin.com, Chewy.com, Huffington Post, TODAY, and Health Magazine.

And every writer has had to have their start. I broke into publishing as a staff writer at College Bound Teen magazine, and had a short post as the web editor at New Jersey Life, a luxury lifestyle publication.

And now that you know my (work) life story, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Ysolt–and that’s pronounced “iSalt” (like iPhone).
